What is the cost of the BICON implant?

Dear Patient,

I hope this message finds you in good health. I understand that your tooth needs to be extracted and you are contemplating having a dental implant, specifically a BICON ultrashort implant, to restore your ability to chew firmly. You have also expressed interest in the 3D Implant Navigation method for the surgical placement of the implant. Your comfort and satisfaction are my utmost priority, and I am more than happy to guide you through the step-by-step procedure and explain the associated costs.

To begin with, the BICON ultrashort implant system offers numerous benefits over traditional implants. These implants are more cost-effective, less invasive, reduce the need for bone grafting, and potentially lower the risk of complications. They are also known for shortening the treatment span, thereby making your overall dental journey more comfortable and speedy.

The surgical procedure for BICON ultrashort implant placement is designed to be as least traumatic as possible, with a focus on preserving vital bone and avoiding nerve trauma. This system requires a different approach and surgical procedure than conventional implants due to the implant’s unique features. They are characterized by a plateau geometry and are tapped into the bone rather than screwed in, offering a more stable grip and higher contact area between the implant surface and the surrounding bone.

Your journey with BICON ultrashort implants would unfold in the following three main steps:

**FIRST STEP**: The surgical procedure involves placing four to six short implants in the upper and/or lower jaw under local anesthesia. If requested, sedation can also be arranged for your comfort. The surgery usually takes one to two hours per jaw, and post-operative follow-ups are recommended 24 hours and 48 hours after surgery.

**SECOND STEP**: Three months after implant placement, we will schedule a second appointment. During this visit, a small incision will be made in the soft tissue to affix the prosthetic component. This will allow the lab to create a stone model indicating the implant position. You will get an opportunity to try on a replica of the prosthetic and discuss desired aesthetic modifications with your prosthodontist.

**THIRD STEP**: The final appointment will be scheduled three days after the impression-taking. At this visit, you can try on the prosthetic replica again and make any last-minute aesthetic corrections. The final prosthetic is usually inserted 48 hours later.

In terms of cost, the price per arch varies between 12,000€ and 20,000€, depending on the number of implants needed and the type of prosthetic you select. One of the many advantages of our procedure is that the fixed prosthesis is anchored to the implant abutments with a tight friction system; no cementation or screws are needed. This design simplifies any future adjustments that may be necessary, without requiring special devices.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or concerns. We can discuss further during your next visit to ensure that you are confident and comfortable with your dental implant journey.

Kind regards,

**Prof. Dr. Mauro Marincola**
